Now everyone knows that I put nature first when it comes to travel. This time too, the first nature and a scenic place in my district came to mind – AMBA, a beautiful place in Kolhapur district, Maharashtra, India. Now all the information can be found on Google but it is equally important that only I can tell my experience.
The Planning
Now when it comes to planning, we suddenly decide on a trip and leave here. AMBA Trip is one of my many one day Trips but I need to share my experience this time. The trip plan was done in the morning in the office, took the four wheeler in the afternoon and left, So Fast…!!
Since Main Destination is close to my city, there were no problems. Booked an economy hotel in the car, took the necessary things on the way. We reached at Amba by 5.00 p.m. It was already evening, and a large area of Amba was covered with forests. Therefore, permission is not given to go out in the evening. So I also chose to stay in the room.
The Exploring
Amba is the place where you have to rent a double decor car of the hotel to see it. I don’t have any option and went out in the morning to explore Amba as I had to visit 3-4 places and come back in time.
Manoli Dam
This is a small scale irrigation project. The water that seeps through the surrounding mountains is loved and used for the surrounding villages and agriculture. That is why this place is the focal point of tourists. Nature had become green because of the rainy season. All you could see was green trees and grass.
Mind and eyes were filled, clear peace, gentle breeze, fewer tourists so full time could be enjoyed very much. I took a lot of photos because I love photography. I did not swim as the water was very cold but I thoroughly enjoyed the surroundings. It’s hard to say much about this place, so all I can say is fill the bag and go and see for yourself.
After enjoying the Manoli Dam, I set off on the road to Pavankhind, but decided to visit the in middle two or three small places. First an Ambeshwar Temple.
Ambeshwar Temple
This is a small temple of Lord Mahadev which has been here since ancient times and is said to be awake. The temple is small but nice. It was a thrilling bush on three sides and a temple in the middle was such a captivating experience.
Waghzara
Without spending much time here, I went to Waghzara, it is said that tigers used to come here to drink water, now there are no tigers, so I drank water. Waghzara is a little below from the original road.
The road to go down was rocky but I managed and went to the spring out of the sleeping area. The spring was small in size but cool. I had to leave even though I spent a lot of time there because there was a beautiful place ahead and waiting for me.
Konkan Kada
Konkan Kada, I had a great experience here. Everywhere you look, there are mountains of Sahyadri, green forests and cool winds. About 40 to 50 km from Konkan Darshan / Kada Point, I was mesmerized by the beautiful scenery of Konkan seen above.
Pavankhind
After seeing these three cool points, I set off for my main place, Pavankhind. Pavankhind is 19 km from Amba. Arrived on time so I could spend time there. From where there was parking for the car, I started walking for a while till the Khind (Gorge) but everything seemed very exciting.
Suddenly I played in history, I immediately remembered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, his descendants, Bajiprabhu Deshpande, and everything. We reached the Khind (Gorge) by reading some information boards in the road and taking its feel.
Seeing the Khind (Gorge), I immediately realized how difficult it was at that time. In that gorge, Bajiprabhu risked his life and saved Maharaj’s life. We all know and read this history but I went there and experienced it. In the time of Maharaj, the same name was “Ghodkhind”, but due to the prowess of Bajiprabhu and other Mavalas, Ghodkhind became immortal in history as “Pavankhind”.
Honestly, it was difficult for me to get out of there, but I had to leave due to lack of time. It is difficult for me to put into words what I will experience that day. So let’s go to an unbearable place at least once.
The Journey Ends
I came back to the hotel after seeing Pavankhind but this time the mood was a bit different. I was tired, I had the thrill of a war in my mind, so much. I wanted to leave for the return journey early in the morning so I fell asleep early.
Amba, was a trip that gave a cool and exciting experience. The one-and-a-half day trip was my but I saw everything, experienced it, and came home with the hope of seeing it again.
